Outreach.io Review (Updated 2024)

Outreach.io Review (Updated 2024)

Today, I want to give you a comprehensive review of Outreach.io, a well-known sales engagement software

As someone who's been in the sales game for a while and has experienced the challenges of setting up various sales tools, including Outreach.io, hopefully I can help give you some insight on whether Outreach.io is the best tool for your team.

Let’s dive in!

First Impressions and Usability

One of the first things that struck me about Outreach.io is that they do not offer a trial period. This means you can't test the software before committing to a subscription. Personally, I find this to be a red flag.

In the SaaS world, I believe in the power of letting users try and fall in love with a product before making a significant financial commitment. Without a trial or an affordable starter plane, it feels like they’re trying to lock you in without giving you the chance to see if it truly fits your needs.

Outreach.io Pricing: How Much Does it Cost?

Cost Per User: $1,200/user/year

Setup (Optional): $10,000 One-Time Payment

Navigating to the pricing page tells you everything you need to know about their target audience. There's no public pricing, instead, you have to request a quote.

This obviously lacks a lot of the transparency we’re all so used to in SaaS but it is common with enterprise-focused tools.

Features and Functionality

Outreach.io offers a variety of high-end features tailored to large sales teams. These include advanced analytics, forecasting, and conversational intelligence. However, for many smaller teams or startups, these features are likely overkill.

When it comes down to it, the outreach.io has some really impressive features that a lot of sophisticated sales teams can make use of. However, many of these features are for managing large sales teams and not necessarily focused on generating leads or closing deals.

This simply means the software is geared towards managers and coaching more so than generating leads. Nevertheless, Outreach.io is clearly a powerful tool.

Management and Maintenance

It's important to note that using Outreach.io can get expensive quickly. Beyond the software subscription, which is quite hefty, integrating it into your existing Salesforce setup is required and can be costly.

If you need help integrating Outreach.io into Salesforce, their team can handle it for you but it will cost $10k for a one time setup.

If you need to hire someone to manage the software, keep in mind that this is an additional cost that you will need to consider.

Comparison to LeadLoft

Now, I have to mention LeadLoft here because we built it to be the best Outreach.io alternative. At LeadLoft, we focus on transparency and ease of use. Our software is designed to help you get to market as quickly as possible, with features like multi-channel communication (call, email, LinkedIn tasks) and a simple, intuitive dashboard.

We’re upfront about what we offer:

  • Unlimited Prospecting
  • Email and LinkedIn Automation
  • A Straightforward CRM.

And unlike Outreach.io, we do not lock you into annual contracts, and our pricing is transparent from the get-go ($99/mo).

While we might not offer advanced features like conversational intelligence or sales coaching, we believe that most teams don't need these until they have more than 20 salespeople. Even still, if you need them, put in a feature request with our team and we’ll get to work!

Is Outreach.io Right for You?

When it comes down to it, outreach.io is built for teams who have already adopted and are trapped with salesforce.  outreach.io does not even work without Salesforce so this is clearly their target audience.

If you are not currently using Salesforce, I would not recommend using outreach.io  because it will require you to subscribe to two different software applications then go through the difficult experience of integrating them together.

Additionally,if you're a large enterprise with a substantial budget and a need for advanced sales coaching and conversational intelligence, Outreach.io might be worth considering. However, for smaller teams, startups, or those looking for a more user-friendly and cost-effective solution, Outreach.io may not be the best fit.

I hope this review has been helpful. If you have any other software you'd like me to review or have any questions, feel free to reach out!
